What to Wear to Yoga Modestly: Long Sleeve Top & Pants

OAMY Glide Oversized Long Sleeve Top in black, a relaxed dropped-shoulder yoga top with long sleeves

Yoga asks more of an outfit than most workouts. You fold, invert, twist and reach, and everything you are wearing has to stay where you put it. If you prefer full coverage, a modest yoga outfit isn't about adding more fabric. It is about choosing the right top length, pant rise and stretch.

What should you wear to yoga if you want full coverage?

A long sleeve top that falls past the hip, high-rise straight-leg pants and a fabric with four-way stretch. That combination stays covered in downward dog, forward folds and seated twists without you having to adjust anything mid-class.

The top: long enough, loose enough, light enough

The Glide Oversized Long Sleeve Top is cut with dropped shoulders and exaggerated long sleeves for a relaxed drape. It is made in smooth four-way stretch Glide fabric (80% recycled polyester, 20% recycled elastane) that feels lightweight rather than heavy, which matters in a warm studio. The oversized shape means it does not cling when you fold forward, and the long sleeves stay over your wrists when your arms go overhead. It is also available in powder pink.

The pant: high rise, straight leg, no gapping

A high-rise drawstring waistband is the detail that keeps a yoga pant secure through inversions. The Glide Straight Leg Pant sits at the natural waist and falls with a soft, fluid drape for full coverage from studio to street. A straight leg also means no excess fabric catching under your feet in standing poses, the way a wide flare can. Prefer colour? It comes in powder pink as well.

Does a modest yoga outfit overheat?

Not if the fabric is right. Heat comes from fabric that traps moisture, not from sleeve length. A smooth, stretchy knit with some breathability keeps long sleeves comfortable. For the full breakdown, see our guide to modest long sleeve gym tops.

Three ways to wear the set

Tonal. Black top, black pant. It is the quietest version and the easiest to pull off.

Soft colour. Powder pink top with the black pant, or the reverse. One colour keeps it considered rather than busy.

Studio to street. Add a relaxed zip jacket over the top for the walk home. Since both pieces are designed to pair, nothing needs changing after class.

Quick checklist

Before any class, run three checks: the top clears your hips, the waistband is high enough not to roll in a forward fold, and the fabric is opaque when stretched. If all three pass, you are covered, in the studio and out of it.
